Ways to Help our Shelter Animals

You can support the Ripley County Humane Society and help homeless animals get a second chance by:

Adopting a Pet
Making a Donation
Volunteering your time and talents
Using a Kroger card
Donating to our shelter wishlist

As a No-Kill shelter, we survive only on donations and we greatly appreciate all the help that we can get.

Please help us continue to better the lives of homeless animals by spreading the word about our shelter. We are always in need of donations as well as volunteers.

Volunteer your time and talents

The work our organization accomplishes would not be possible without the generous contributions of our volunteers. Here are some of the things you can do:

1. Animal Care: Walking Dogs, etc

Animal Care Volunteers are needed to visit with the animals at the shelter. They can take the dogs for walks, give them baths, groom them, and play with them. They can play with the cats, brush them, and give them breaks from their cages.

2. Special Events and Fundraisers

Throughout the year, we host special fund-raisers that require volunteers. You can act as Organizer or Assistant for these events. Types of activities can include set up, assisting with “games played at event, food and beverage serving, etc.

3. Pet-to-Vet Transport

We need volunteers to transport animals to and from the veterinary offices. The driver uses the shelter's van to transport the dogs and cats.

Driver's license is required as well as being 21 years or older. Experience handling animals is also required.

4. Your talents

Everyone has a special talent or strength. And if you think you can use yours to benefit our shelter in some way, please join us in our journey to help our animals.
